Terms of Use
Effective August 2, 2026
About these terms
These terms govern use of the Checkmate Community website, member features, program-request forms, volunteer forms, facility resources, and donation links. By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and provide accurate information.
Nonprofit information and programs
Website information is provided for general informational and program-coordination purposes. Program dates, availability, service areas, volunteers, and activities may change. Submitting a form does not guarantee that a visit, partnership, volunteer placement, or event has been approved until Checkmate Community confirms it.
Facility responsibilities
Facilities are responsible for providing accurate safety information, obtaining appropriate resident or legal-representative permissions, ensuring staff supervision, and notifying us of changes that may affect safe participation. Do not submit more resident information than is necessary.
Member accounts
You are responsible for protecting your password and using your account only for lawful purposes. Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may suspend accounts used for abuse, fraud, harassment, unauthorized access, or disruption of the site.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and processed by Stripe. Unless required by law, donations are generally nonrefundable after funds have been committed or used for nonprofit programs. Contact us promptly if you believe a payment was made in error.
Website content
Checkmate Community owns or is authorized to use the text, branding, designs, photographs, videos, and other materials on this site. Do not copy, sell, impersonate, or commercially reuse site content without written permission. Photo and video use remains subject to applicable permissions.
Outside links
The site may link to payment providers, sponsors, partners, and affiliated projects. We are not responsible for outside websites, their availability, or their separate policies.
No misuse
- Do not attempt to access administrator areas or another member’s account.
- Do not submit false, harmful, unlawful, or malicious information.
- Do not upload malware, interfere with forms, scrape protected information, or overload the service.
Availability and limitations
We work to keep the website accurate and available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by law, Checkmate Community is not responsible for indirect losses resulting from website interruption, outside services, or reliance on general website information.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms when programs or website features change. Questions may be sent to info@checkmatecommunitytx.org or made by calling (817) 320-6135.
